Mercer Wisconsin - "We have it all!"
Hiking and snow-shoeing is allowed only on the untracked portions of the trail. Trails are open in the spring; summer and fall for hiking and mountain biking. Please respect and help to preserve these trails for everyone's enjoyment. The MECCA Cross Country Ski Club in Mercer, Wisconsin invites you to experience cross country skiing in Big Snow Country!! We offer groomed trails for both classical and skate skiing. Our trails are easy to find... To Trailhead B To Trailhead AAt each trailhead you will find maps and additional information. Our club currently grooms 20 km of trials. All trails are on county lands. We maintain a warming house with wood stove for your comfort. Donations are GREATLY APPRECIATED and you will find red donation boxes at both trailheads and in the warming house. MECCA’s Annual Fundraising Events Each January MECCA puts on a Candlelight Ski. Volunteers light one mile of trail to the warming house where a bonfire, hot chocolate and cookies are provided. The event is free of charge to all participants, but donations accepted. MECCA participates in Mercer's annual town wide garage sale with a large sale set up next to Snow's IGA market. Donations of clean, salable items are accepted year round. All proceeds go to club functions. Look for our booth at the popular Mercer Loon Day the first Wednesday in August. We prepare fresh lemon and lime shakeups for sale and conduct a 50/50 raffle as well. At each event membership forms are available and donations are welcome. cabin, candlelit Tracked Trail and hot beverages. Bring snacks &
join us for a wonderful night of skiing, hiking, snow-shoeing and refreshments.

Directions to Trailhead “A”. From Mercer, drive one mile north on US Highway 51 and turn left onto County Road “FF. Drive one mile and turn left onto Poppy Circle East Road. then 1.2 miles to Joe's Shack Road, following the signs to the parking area. All turns will be marked. The
MECCA Cross-Country Ski Club has been in existence for about twenty years.
It consists of a small hard working group of volunteers that function in
cooperation with public agencies. Funds to purchase and maintain
grooming equipment (snowmobiles and trackers) are obtained through YOUR
DONATIONS, fund raising efforts on the part of club members and public
agency support. Trails are groomed by VOLUNTEERS weekly or as conditions
allow.
